Barrie Evergreen is the older brother of Brystal Evergreen, and cares for her very much, sneaking her books to read even though women are not allowed to read in the Southern Kingdom. Neither of them gets along very well with their eldest brother, Brooks. Brooks and Barrie humiliate each other a lot. When Brystal was put on trial for the Bailey vs the Southern Kingdom case, Barrie was the one who sentenced her to death not knowing that he was putting his sister's life in grave danger. Brooks, the lawyer in Brystal's defense tried to convince Barrie otherwise, but failed. This plot was set up by the supreme judge, to try and expose the Evergreen family.

A Tale of Magic...[]
Barrie took the final exam for the Chariot Hills University of Law, nervous, but passes. After his passing of the examination, his father says that on Barrie's first case, he must pick the maximum penalty, otherwise the sitting judge will think him weak and probably side with the defense. One month later, their family is set up to execute his sister, Brystal, by Justice Oldragaid, who despises their father. Barrie was the Prosecution Attorney, and Brooks, his brother, was the Defense Attorney. Not knowing that the defendant is his own sister, Barrie sentences her to death, despite Brooks' urging to stop.
Brystal is revealed to be the prisoner, and she is nearly executed before Justice Evergreen bursts in with a scroll from High Justice Mounteclair. The scroll reads that instead of death, Brystal will be sent to the Bootstrap Correctional Facility.
A Tale of Witchcraft...[]
Barrie is marrying Lady Penny Charming, the niece of King Champion XIV. His wedding goes on and on, as it is a royal wedding. By the time they are about to say the vows, it is night. Right after they do speak the vows, and Barrie becomes Lord Evergreen, the Righteous Brotherhood attacks, coming for Brystal.
