Biography[]

Early Life[]

Birth and Christening[]

When Beauty II was born, the kingdom of the east held a great celebration in which all the inhabitants of the kingdom, whether nobles or commoners, were cordially invited to her baptism, the kings of that time also invited a group of fairies to bless the girl among themselves, Brystal Lynn. As thanks for having invited them, all the fairies one by one blessed the baby with multiple gifts and strengths such as beauty, wealth, humility and love. When it was going to be Brystal's turn a strong wind and Thunder a shook the castle, Ezmia The Enchantress appeared.

Ezmia was completely furious for not having been invited to the christening, she also had a strong hatred for the royal family since she had a history with Beauty's grandfather and she cast a powerful curse on the baby. Prophesying that when she came of age would prick her finger with the use of a spinning wheel and would drop dead instantly. The kings were anguished by the terrible curse, Brystal who had not given her gift yet tried to do something to mitigate the curse to prevent the princess from dying. But could only change death for a hundred years of sleep and that she could only be awakened with a kiss of love. Transforming the death curse into the Sleeping Curse.

Beauty's father, fearful that the curse would come true, ordered that all the spinning wheels in the kingdom be confiscated, where they would be taken to the castle, hidden, destroyed and burned to prevent his daughter from touching them.

Pricking her Finger[]

When Beauty came of age, you could see all the gifts that the fairies had given her, she was beautiful, intelligent and kind, a perfect person, when the fearful day arrived. His parents decided to go on a trip since they were calm because there was no spinning wheel in the palace.

Beauty was walking very calmly through the palace although she was somewhat bored, when she was walking near the highest tower she heard a rather strange sound and decided to go to investigate what it was. When she arrived and opened the door she saw an older woman spinning on a beautiful spinning wheel.

As Beauty had never seen a spinning wheel, she felt a great attraction to that object, the old woman asked her if she wanted to learn how to use it, to which Beauty said yes. When she was going to take the skein, the old woman made a quick gesture with her skein and caused the princess to prick her finger with the tip of it. After blood began to come out, Beauty fell asleep instantly, the old woman revealed herself as Ezmia.

Cursed Sleep[]

After Beauty fell into her cursed sleep, her parents and all the inhabitants of the eastern kingdom fell victim to the curse just like her, later some thorny rose vines began to grow everywhere isolating the entire kingdom for 100 years.

A whole century passed and there were many who sought to enter the eastern kingdom which they began to call the Sleeping Kingdom due to the princess's curse but none managed to enter through the magical vines. The later time is unknown but the prince Chase Charming was in search of his brother Charlie, he heard about the princess's curse and decided to go to the sleeping kingdom to investigate, when he arrived the thorny vines parted and chase entered the kingdom and saw that all the inhabitants, humans, animals and plants were asleep.

He felt a great attraction towards the highest tower of the castle, upon reaching it he found Beauty sleeping, Chase was captivated by her beauty and decided to give her a sweet kiss on the lips, after kissing her Beauty woke up instantly and along with her all the inhabitants from the kingdom of the east they woke up.

Beauty, grateful to Chase for saving her, asked how she could thank him and he told her that he wanted her hand in marriage, to which Beauty happily accepted.Beauty later took her place as Queen of the Eastern Kingdom.

1. The Wishing Spell[]

Sleeping Beauty helps the twins by lending them the spindle they need for the Wishing Spell.

She told them about the mystery man who was also seeking to cast the spell, at first she was reluctant about giving him her spindle but finally agreed after he told her that he wanted to go back to someone he loved. She told them that there were very few things that she could control despite being the queen and that she tries to help as much as she can, later she indicates to the twins a secret passage to leave the kingdom of the east.

Before leaving she told them a secret and that is that she hasn't slept since Chase woke her up with the kiss, but that she would sleep after her entire kingdom is finally healed.

2. The Enchantress Returns[]

After more than a year the Eastern Kingdom finally manages to recover from the Sleeping Curse, Sleeping Beauty and Chase organize a party at the castle in which they celebrate that their hard times are finally over. After the party Beauty begins to feel something she hasn't felt in a long time: Dream.

Beauty goes to sleep after many years of not doing so, but when it was midnight a clap of thunder shook the palace waking her and Chase up, the guards burst into the king's room and quickly take Beauty outside. She began to try to get free and demanded to know what was happening, the counselor told her that the guards they had found a spinning wheel on one of the castle walls and when he touched it it exploded into violet flames causing the thorny vines to grow again.

The counselor told Beauty that she would be sent to the fairy kingdom where she would be safe, she would be sent in a secret carriage while they sent 3 other decoy carriages, Beauty said that she never authorized that escape plan. The counselor told her that it had been her parents who, before dying, created this plan to prevent her daughter from being attacked again when they were no longer around.

Beauty got into the carriage and the coachman drove at full speed, Beauty saw in horror how her kingdom was being covered by thorny vines, swallowing homes, animals and families. At some point the coachman and horses were thrown from the carriage and it overturned and crashed with the queen inside, although Beauty survived and emerged from the carriage unharmed.

A frightened Beauty did not know whether to ask for help or run. At one point a violet light flashed in the forest and Beauty covered her eyes with a scream of terror. After the light diminished she began to smell smoke and she saw that all the trees around her turned into distaff engulfed in violet fire flames. Beauty with horror told herself what she feared so much: The Enchantress who had cursed her so many years ago had returned.

In the end, some soldiers from the Enchanting Kingdom finally found her and managed to take her to the Fairy Kingdom. She along with the other kings gather for the Happily Ever After Assembly, she feels guilty for all the damage that the Enchantress is causing, she feels even more guilty when she discovers that Rumpelstilskin, Ezmia's servant, kidnapped Cinderella's daughter. When Ezmia is present, she warns all the kings that it would be best for them to surrender to her, suggesting that Sleeping Beauty be the first, promising that if she surrenders she will free Chase from the prison of thorns.

Sleeping Beauty refuses along with the rest of the kings, a furious Ezmia captures the Fairy Godmother and tells them that they made a serious mistake and disappears wrapped in a violet lightning bolt.

Sleeping Beauty had to take refuge in the Charming Kingdom along with King Chance and Cinderella. She tries to console Cinderella, still grieving over the loss of her daughter. But some roots of thorns grow on the floor of the castle and kidnap her and Cinderella and Chance, dragging them to Ezmia's new lair. She, along with the other monarchs, reluctantly agrees to give her kingdom to the Enchantress. After Alex kills Ezmia, she is freed from the vines along with Chase. They hug each other full of joy after being separated for so long.

She sees the spirits of her grandmother Beauty I and her grandfather the Beast smiling at them before ascending to the afterlife. She asks Chase who those spirits are and her husband simply tells her that they are her guardian angels.

3. A Grimms Warning[]

Fighting the Grande Armée[]

Bella II along with Chase are summoned by Alex to the fairy kingdom, there they are informed about the Grande Armee and how they plan to take over all the Kingdoms, Alex decides that it is best to hide all the royalty in a secret path, since if they are captured, the armies of the kingdoms would be forced to surrender. Alex conjures a secret path and transforms the kings' clothes into peasant clothes and they split into different carriages, Belle II and Chase go with Chance and Cinderella.

While they were on the secret path, Beauty looks at Cinderella cradling her daughter, to which she asks if after solving the problem with the war they could start a family, this caused Beauty to begin to cry, to which Cinderella quickly apologized, although she did not know why. Beauty tells Cinderella that it is not her fault and reveals that after the Sleeping Curse she and many women of the Eastern Kingdom were barren, which leaves Cinderella and Chance quite stunned and saddened by such a revelation.

As they began to cross the borders of the Eastern Kingdom, Beauty was glad to finally be home, but then she began to feel that something was not right and saw clouds of ash nearby, she ordered the carriage to stop and jumped out of it to see where the clouds were coming from and saw a village engulfed in flames. Beauty, horrified, wondered why in times of crisis her kingdom was the one that suffered first, Snow White tried to comfort her by telling her that although her kingdom may suffer the most, it will also be the first to heal. Without anyone noticing, Beauty began to hear crying coming from that village and quickly ran there, Jack and Goldilocks quickly went after her, in one of the burning houses Beauty clearly heard a baby crying, she quickly went inside and covered her mouth to avoid inhaling the smoke, Jack and Goldilocks also went in and realized that a real baby was crying.

The three quickly went to the place where the crying was coming from and heard it coming from a small trunk buried in a pile of rubble, Jack and Goldilocks helped Beauty remove the debris and after opening the trunk they saw that there was a little girl inside. Jack and Goldilocks were surprised because how could he have been able to hear her, Beauty just said that maybe she was just meant to hear her. She quickly took the baby in her arms and they left the house before it finally collapsed. They met with the travel group that was still waiting for them and everyone was stunned to see the surviving girl. Beauty fell in love with the baby and decided to adopt her. At first Chase was not happy but after seeing the girl he fell in love with her and agreed to name her as his heir.

Although only Chace and Cinderella knew Beauty's secret, no one opposed her adoption. Cinderella asked her what she would name her, and Beauty replied that since they found her among the ashes and smoke, she would be called Ash.

Red Riding Hood and King Charlie's Wedding[]

She attends Red and Froggy's (almost) wedding.[3] It is unclear what happened to the Eastern Kingdom and the royal family when the Masked Man's army of literary villains attacked.

Attempted Execution[]

Sleeping Beauty is among the royals who are almost executed by The Emperor (Masked Man). They are rescued just in time by Jack, Goldilocks, The Merry Men and The Lost Boys.

Physical Appearance[]

The woman wore a tiara made of silver flowers and had long, flowing, golden hair. She wore a thin gown a shade of pale rose with matching gloves.[4]

Beauty II is a slender and beautiful woman, with light blue eyes, loose hip-length golden blonde hair in which she had tangled pale pink flowers. She wore a fine pale rose dress with matching gloves, along with a tiara embellished with silver flowers.

Personality[]

Queen Sleeping Beauty takes great responsibility in leading her kingdom and vowed to stay awake until her kingdom was fully restored from the curse.[5] She is adamant that her people should not suffer consequences for being cursed (such as punishment on lingering sleepiness). When Conner offers a solution, she is willing to listen to him despite him being a child (and an intruder to her council meeting.)[6]

She tells Alex and Conner she believed their father's story about the Wishing Spell because she is "somewhat romantic" herself[7] and freely offers to help them by giving them the spindle.

In The Enchantress Returns, hers is the first kingdom to be attacked by Ezmia, the enchantress who originally cursed her and her kingdom with the Sleeping Curse, and for a long while she assumes the enchantress has returned to "finish the job" and kill her. Ezmia corrects her and makes it clear she means to take over the entire Land of Stories.

In A Grimm Warning, Sleeping Beauty reveals that the Sleeping Curse left her and many other women in the Eastern Kingdom barren.[8] Shortly after, she and the other royals come upon the ruins of a village that has been ransacked by the Grande Armée, leaving no survivors but a small baby girl. She and her husband Chase immediately decide to adopt her. They call her Ash.

Relationships[]

Sleeping Beauty is married to King Chase Charming. Her parents are mentioned in The Enchantress Returns: they once devised an emergency escape plan from the castle in case it was ever needed, and Sleeping Beauty uses it to escape when the enchanted vines start creeping up on the castle.[9] They have an adopted daughter named Princess Ash.

Her father is the king who wanted to marry a woman who could spin gold out of hay (see: Rumpelstiltskin). Her grandfather is the king who was cursed to live looking like a beast until a girl (her grandmother) fell in love with him and broke the curse (see: Lady of the East).

She has a royal advisor; he is described as a short, old man with a white beard.[10]
