If you looked at my profile page, you realize that I love KOTLC. I also love TLOS series, so I want to ask if anyone has any goodd crossover ships. The one I have heard a lot of is Alex and Tam Song. They seem a good fit, but I ship Tiana (in KOTLC).Read more >
I finished the series about 1 and a half years ago. My friend got bored after the fifth book so she didn't read the sixth. She said she didn't like it anymore, but she sometimes brings it up today. I think I'm going to re-read the series soon :PRead more >
Goldilocks from TLOS is a wonderful character. She is strong and not afraid of anything (except for bears, but she overcomes that.) Here's why she is one of my favorite characters:
-She has many sides to her personality.
-She is strong and brave
-She inspires others
-She tries her best to help others
-She doesn't give up no matter what situation she is in
-She doesn't under-estimate anyone
-She is caring and loving
-She is self-empowered
Goldie says many inspiring things in TLOS books, such as "Courage is the one thing that no one can ever take away from you," and "Jealousy is just a reminder of the frustrations you have with yourself."Read more >
I absolutely adore the Land of Stories Series, and for good reason. I read the first book years ago after puchasing it at a book store and have been addicted since. I am so glad to be joining the fandom and I hope that I can make great contributions that explain the story well.
Here's why people who haven't read the series should begin now:
The book is different and unexpected. We've all read those books where the title or cover art explains the entire story and we know exactly what will happen. There are so many plot twists in the book and things go where you could never expect them to. I mean, who would've guessed that the twins wouldn't use the Wishing Spell to get home, or their grandmother was the fairy godmother, or that in book two, T…Read more >
Alex is my favorite TLOS character. Here's why:
-She can get out of any tough situaion with fast thinking and smart choices
-She is dedicated to helping TLOS be a safe place
-She is strong and uses her words wisely
-She is brave and tries her best at everything
-She learns from her mistakes and improves from them
-She can understand and make a difference in any situation
Her personality shows why she is a great hero and my personal favorite. She is a smart girl and makes the best of anything that happens to her with what she has. Everyone strives to be someone successful like her.Read more >

Don’t you LOVE the love story between King Arthur (search the page, I made it) and Alex? He was always there for the love of his life. I hope they married and had a happily ever after. (But first he needs to get the Holy Grail, hihi(seriously? You don’t remember? Okay, Alex said that she might consider being his girlfriend if he A pulled the sword out of the stone B founded Camelot C founded the Knights of the Round Table and D found the Holy Grail.)) Anyhoo, if you have a Bf of Gf, think "are they as good as Arthur?" Bye, Faye out.Read more >
When Alex and Conner were tricked into different stories by their evil uncle, what chances were there that they would fall in love? But that’s what happened when past and future Fairy Godmother Alexandra Bailey met dashing young future King Arthur. They fell in love while he was fighting a bear, who turned out to be Merlin. He ended up to be a true love, and who could say he wouldn’t be? Arthur is a handsome young man who aspires to be the best king that England has seen. He loves to tease her, as Arthur believes it makes her all the more cute. When Alex was taken over by a mirror dust, she was dangerous to all of New York City. She believed the only way to stop her was to have either Arthur or Conner kill her. But when Arthur woke from th…Read more >

Who is your favorite character in this series? Is it Conner? Goldilocks? Red? All of these characters are great but in my opinion, Alex is the one that deserves an award for being the best character. Now you may disagree, but think about it, if Alex hadn't kept their grandmother's book then this entire series wouldn't have happened. And yes, technically their grandma is the one who gave it to her, but her grandma sadly returns to magic in the third book. And not to mention, Alex has saved her brother and others countless times. Some may argue that she destroyed much of New York City and that many were injured or killed, but she was also able to overcome the evil dust and return back to normal. Think about how much will power that must…Read more >

I was just wondering if any of you have ever thought of this;
1) In the book, The Fairy Godmother says that "every time she returned" (once a week it seems), "it seemed that decades passed" (TLOS1), and Mother goose talks about this as well
2) Time only slowed down AFTER the twins were born
3) Fairy Godmother explains that John fell in love the first trip. Then she forbade him from going and he went back anyways
4) It apparently took John 3 years to get back, but maybe just a week or two
5) working on the idea it took him 2 weeks-3 years, and that approx. 2 decades passed in the real world for every week in TLOS, it would be 40-3120 (ish) years in the otherworld by the time he got back
My theory is that because the times matched up …Read more >

As you may or may not know, I live in Europe. When it comes to (pre)ordering books, I might as well live in Narnia. The past 3-4 years have proven that it's very hard -impossible, in fact- to get my hands on a copy of new TLOS books on the actual day of release. Shipping hassle takes somewhere from 14 days up to 2 months (!).
This means that I cannot/will not be updating TLOS6-relevant infos on the days immediately following its release. (Current estimation of delivery here is July 20th...)
If YOU are one of the lucky ones to have your book on the 11th of July (my birthday, actually...), you are very welcome to post a chapter-by-chapter plot recap (or anything else you want), but please keep it in the relevant sections (Worlds C…Read more >
Anyone notice that in book 2 (i think), Mother goose says she has been known as guenivere, and then in book 4, she gets with Merlin? Personally, I think that this is kinda creepy, because when they visited, it seemed Alex would then be the guenivere of the story, so to speak, because she hit it off well with Arthur. Also, what if the portal potion was placed on a history book? Would you be able to change history or interact with history's most famous people or places.Read more >
Question -- is it ever explained why in the original story by the Brothers Grimm the Evil Queen dies at Snow White's wedding, while in the real Fairy Tale world that never happened and she gets thrown into the dungeon? Did the Brothers Grimm just make up that part of the story while reporting the events?Read more >

Plot, unreliable narrator, or plothole?
In TLOS1, the Fairy Godmother tells the twins that her husband died shortly before her son John was born. (ch 24, p. 430)
In TLOS4, we learn she has a younger son, Lloyd, and that he was very upset when his father died.(Prologue, p 7)
What does this mean?
A) The FG was lying to Alex and Conner about the time of her husband's death to hide the fact that she had another son.
B) Lloyd has a different father.
C) TLOS1 was originally going to be the only book Chris would write about the fairy tale world, and the plot involving Lloyd was created after the release of TLOS1, thus retconning the FG's words.

The Dwarf Forests
After the Dragon Age, the Land of Stories went into the Age of Magic and the world was divided into kingdoms. One area was apparently not ‘claimed’ by any of the royal fairy tale families: the Dwarf Forests. Why was that?
Froggy describes it as a dangerous place full of criminals and fugitives. At least 3 witches live(d) there (and the sneak preview from tlos4 mentions a lot more witches..!). Ezmia persuades the woodland villains from the forest to join her, and General Marquis musters for his army from the forest. The dwarfs seem friendly enough (?).
Were the royals afraid to claim the territory? Or is there a ruling order we don’t know about?
Will we learn more in Beyond the Kingdoms? :)
Discuss your theories with fellow tlo…

As you probaby know, there are about 2 or 3 other wikias about TLOS out there, in various states of care. One of them, http://thelandofstories.wikia.com/, hasn't been edited in a long time. I have left the most recent users this message:
Hi! I am contacting you because you are one of the last active users of the The Land of Stories wikia. I have noticed that this wiki hasn't been edited in a long time, and I was wondering if you'd be okay with merging it with a more active TLOS wiki:
I think the URL of your wiki is a lot more accessible to users looking for information on The Land of Stories. Combined with our content, we might get a lot more traffic and generate a more active user community of Chri…
