David Gilson is a freelance illustrator and cartoonist who specializes in character design. He is known for illustrating the French edition covers for all the published books in The Land of Stories series books so far as well as the French edition covers for the first two books in the A Tale of Magic... series.

Not much is known about David's early life except for the fact that he was born in Paris, France on the 25th of August, 1973.

Gilson studied at CFT Gobelins in Paris. His past work includes work for Walt Disney Feature Animation along with various comics and illustrated works.
