Dorothy Gale was a fictional character from the Oz Books by L. Frank Baum[1]. The main character of the original, unchanged Oz books, lived with Auntie Em and Uncle Henry in Kansas before she was swept up by a cyclone that took her The Land Of Oz.
Biography[]
Dorothy Gale was very excited to see Conner, Alex, Jack, Goldilocks, Mother Goose, Red, and Lester. When Conner greeted her by name without having introduced herself, she assumed they are fortune tellers, and Conner quickly agreed. She invited them into her little house and asks them about the places they have visited.
When the cyclone hits, Auntie Em tells her to go to the storm cellar, but Dorothy Gale's dog Toto runs off to hide under her bed and Dorothy Gale goes to fetch him instead. They are transported to the Land Of Oz. The twins and their friends are still outside and end up in another part of Oz. They do not come across Dorothy Gale there.
Physical Appearance[]
“ | A little girl appeared behind the screen door. She was adorable and wore pigtails and a dainty dress. She held her scruffy little dog in her arms and lovingly stroked his fur.[2] | ” |
Dorothy Gale was a young girl with pigtails. She was described as being adorable.[3]
Personality[]
“ | "Sometimes I dream about joining the circus just so I can see the world, but I don't think Toto and I will ever get out of Kansas."[4] | ” |
Dorothy Gale seemed to be easily excitable such as when the twins and their friends arrived in Kansas, due to her never seeing many visitors before.
It can be assumed that Dorothy Gale doesn't much like her life in Kansas due to it being quite boring.[5]
