"The buildings stand higher than beanstalks!” |
— Jack Spriggins about the buildings in New York City |
Characteristics[]
New York City (NYC), officially the City of New York and usually referred to as just New York is located within the U.S.A. and is the largest city in the United States.
History[]
In 1624, a group of Dutch colonists landed on what will be the state of New York and declares the creation of their colony, which went by the name of ‘New Amsterdam’ the name of which derived from the capital of Netherlands, Amsterdam. However, as time passed and the United Kingdom gained power, the Dutch colonists were eventually replaced by British settlers from the city of York, who renamed the city ‘New York’ by their hometown.
Over time, the settlers started a new country: the United States, and New York was the provisional capital of the country, until it was moved to Washington DC. New York City gradually grew and grew until to the point of being the biggest city in the world as mentioned by Conner.
However on one fateful day in 2011, the city was Attacked by the Witches, magical creatures of the fantasy world led by Alexandra Bailey. The New York Police Department was first to arrive at the scene, bedazzled as they could do nothing but Hold the crowd back and wait for the U.S. Military to swoop in. However, despite the warnings given by Conner Bailey and others the citizens of New York was mostly panicked and didn’t believe a word he said(partially due to that it doesn’t make any sense) and the police had him confined in a police cruiser.
However few minutes after the initial attack, the U.S Marines came in to contain the situation, which ended poorly due to the leadership being too adapted to conventional warfare. The forces of the Witches started to gain the upper hand. At this point in time, all of the five components of the military were being mobilized and the setting up checkpoints at the bridges surrounding the city. Due to the tactical mistakes of the military, many citizens, especially children, were confined in makeshift cells and were about to be fed to the witches. This of course was stopped by Conner Bailey who released the children.
