"The home was constructed from a combination of black bricks, burned lumber, and dark stones—as if the property had been damaged and rebuilt several times over the years. Thirteen crooked towers sprouted from the roof at awkward angles that broke the laws of physics."

Description[]

According to Mistress Mara the manor had thirteen floors and seventy-seven rooms. And the only room off-limits was Mistress Mara's study on the seventh floor.[2]

This place is so dreary it's almost charming

Lucy Goose about the Ravencrest School of Witchcraft.[3]

Grounds[]

The manor was surrounded by a graveyard of uneven tombstones and miniature crypts. The whole property was protected by a tall iron fence, and two grotesque gargoyles were perched on top of a gate that was chained shut.[4]

The manor was home to hundreds of witches who were turned to lynxes. The fence was gaurded by two gargoyles, Brick and Stone, the school grounds were also guarded by moving trees.[5]

Basement[]

Kitchen[]

Instead of pots and pans the room held a variety of cauldrons, and instead of a pantry it had shelves with weird and grotesque elixirs and ingredients.[3]

Ground Floor[]

Entrance Hall bruh heheh[]

The entryway had a giant chandelier of live hanging bats. A taxidermy bear stood in the center of the entrance hall, the bear had been turned into a grandfather clock.[6]

A grand staircase with railings made of bones curved around the bear. As Lucy’s eyes followed the staircase up toward the high ceiling, she discovered it was connected to a labyrinth of bridges, landings, ladders, and other staircases that crisscrossed, zigzagged, and looped as they ascended to the upper floors."[6]

Sitting Room[]

The sitting room had furniture that was upholstered with porcupine needles and reptile skin.[7]

Dining Room[]

Next to the sitting room was a dining room with a long table and benches built from coffins.[7]

Library[]

The library was small and contained books that growled and hissed behind cages.[7]

Seventh Floor[]

Mistress Mara's Study[]

All the furniture and fixtures, from the desk to the chandelier, were made from human skulls. The walls were decorated from floor to ceiling with black masks, and each one was uniquely terrifying, as if they were all screaming with different expressions of pain and fear.[8]

Inside the study was a closet lined with shelves made of charred wood, hundreds of glowing jack-o'-lanterns were housed on the shelves, every single pumpkin was carved with a life-like face.[8] The jack-o'-lanterns were called Curse Counters, the candle inside the pumpkin burns as long as the curse is still active.[9]

Eleventh Floor[]

East Tower[]

Lucy's bedroom was in the East Tower, a sign in the shape of a star hung on the door that read, "Witches Only—No Warlocks Allowed" possibly meaning that Ravencrest wasn't just a school for witches.[10]

The inside of the bedroom had large nests instead of regular beds.[10]
