Robin Hood is the well-known hero from English folklore, who 'steals from the rich to give to the poor'.

In the Land of Stories series, he first appears in Beyond the Kingdoms and ends up helping Alex and Conner on their quest.

Biography[]

Aiding Conner Bailey[]

Robin initially captures Conner, the Tin Woodman and Peter Pan, assuming they were sent by the Sheriff of Nottingham. When they manage to scare the Sheriff and his knights away, Robin and his men pledge their loyalty to Conner, the 'mighty sorcerer' and try to help him make the Portal Potion and fight the Masked Man. They travel with them into the Land of Stories.

Babysitting Conner Bailey's Characters[]

Robin and his Merry Men stay at the hospital with the other characters from different stories. Later, he plays a major role in the play Trollbella put up for the hospital children.

Battle of New York[]

Robin and his Merry Men help defeat the Literary Army in the Otherworld and the witches who came through the portal.

Physical Appearance[]

He was tall and handsome with a red beard and a bright smile. He wore dark green clothing, a feathered cap, and tall boots. He held a bow in one hand, and a quiver of arrows was strapped to his back.

— Robin Hood's physical appearance[1]

Robin is a tall man with a muscular build, he is quite attractive with fair skin, brown eyes, deep red hair and beard, and a long, slightly pointed nose. He wears a dark green hunter's uniform with a matching hat with a red feather on top, baggy brown pants, and black boots.

Personality[]

Despite his evil reputation, Robin is cocky, vain, and conceited. He speaks of himself in the third person (usually to praise himself). When he meets Conner, the Tin Woodman and Peter Pan, he immediately assumes they must be the Sheriff of Nottingham's 'knights'.[2] He doesn't change his mind until Conner and his friends scare the Sheriff's men away with a trick - after that, Robin believes Conner is a sorcerer. He vows (loudly) to help him in any way he can.[3]

Relationships[]

Robin has a group of friends, his 'Merry Men', who consist out of Little John, Friar Tuck, Alan-A-Dale and Will Scarlet.

Robin is in love with the Maid Marian, but had previously only tried to woo her by yelling at her about his own accomplishments. This tactic hadn't been very successful, as Marian actively avoided him. Conner advised Robin to talk softly and compliment her, which turned out to be very helpful.[4] His and Marian's love is important, as a part of the Portal Potion requires a lock of true love.

Robin is also quite clueless in someway for certain things. Conner described that Robin "made Queen Red Riding Hood be like a Rhodes Scholar".

Quotes[]

"THERE IS NO NEED TO SHOUT, SORCERER," Robin Hood said. "MY HEARING IS IMPECCABLE. I HAVE THE EARS OF A FOX."[5]

"PLAY US A CHEERFUL TUNE OF MY COURAGE AND GLORY, TO PASS THE TIME AS WE VENTURE HOME."[6]

"THE KNIGHT IS SO OVERWHELMED BY MY PRESENCE, HE IS CONFUSED."[7]

"WHAT IS A CHAT GREAT SORCERER?"

“SORCERER, YOU MUSTN’T LEAVE AN IRON IN THE FIRE TOO LONG, IT MIGHT BURN YOU WHEN YOU COME BACK FOR IT,”

“THE SORCERER IS FRUSTRATED,”

”EXCUSE ME, BUT WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? THE KING OF ENGLAND?”
