The Flying Monkeys or "Winged Monkeys" were fictional characters from the Oz Books by L. Frank Baum[1]. They were the Wicked Witch of the West's familiars, controlled by her golden hat.
Appearance and Personality[]
The only flying monkey that was described so far was Blubo, a baby flying monkey. He is no larger than a cat, has plump, rosy cheeks, brown fur, and wears a tiny vest. Bat-like wings grow out of his back.[2] He can talk. He expr
esses fear for his family, who were forced to join the Masked Man's army and are controlled by the Wicked Witch with her magical hat. The Flying Monkeys are forced into slavery using The Wicked Witch's Golden Hat. Explained above. They are released by Blubo when he smashes the Golden Hat.
