General Editing Rules
- All information on this wiki should be reliably sourced and referenced on articles.
- Vandalism is not allowed, nor is supporting it.
- Do not farm edits. This means making unconstructive edits on articles only to increase your edit count.
- Editing other userpages is strictly prohibited unless you have permission from the user or you are changing inappropriate content that violates wiki policies
- An exception for this is if you are undoing vandalism on the page.
- Proper grammar and spelling is a must, the only exception is if a certain word is spelt differently in the books than it actually should be in real life.
Manual of Style
Book Articles
Introductory Paragraphs
- Book articles must contain at least two introductory paragraphs, the first should be for publishing information such as the publisher, author, release date, etc.
Table of Contents
- Like all articles, book articles must have a table of contents as well as specific headings that are shown in the screenshot above.
Synopsis
- The synopsis can be basically described as a summary by chapter meaning every chapter should be listed in the table of contents.
Reception
- The reception heading should contain all praise for a certain book in The Land of Stories series or A Tale of Magic... series.
Editions
- A gallery of all editions published.
References
- A list of sources used to get information for an article.
Note
- If the book is unreleased, then there are different requirements. Only what is one hundred percent confirmed by the author or publisher should be on the article, because The Land of Stories Wiki is an encyclopedia, not a fanon wiki.
Character Articles
Introductory Paragraph(s)
- Introductory paragraph(s) are meant to give just a small amount of background information on the character
- The minimum an introductory paragraph needs is two sentences, though it can and is encouraged to be more
Table of Contents
- Each individual article must have a table of contents
Biography
- Character articles need to have a "Biography" heading. Subheadings of that should be the name of events and such
Physical Appearance
- All character articles should include a more detailed appearance under the "Physical Appearance" heading.
Personality
- Articles should contain information and a summary of a character's personality as well as personality traits
- Infoboxes have a small section called "Personality:" which must be filled in with a few defining characteristics/personality traits
Possessions

- Each individual article must have a "Possessions" heading where a list of possessions (and small descriptions for each one) must go
Relationships
- A heading titled "Relationships" must be added to every character article. Subheadings for character names must go under the "Relationships" heading. Under those subheadings must be a description that the character has with the other character
- The names must be listed from the best relationship to the worst.
Behind the Scenes
- Character articles should contain "Behind the Scenes" sections for trivia, quotes, etc.
References
- Articles should have a list of references and sources used under this heading
Infobox Templates
If one would like to start an article, they should begin with the {{Infobox book}}, {{Infobox character}}, or {{Infobox location}} template. We do have more infobox templates, and if you'd like to know which you should use, please contact an administrator or a content moderator.
