When the students and apprentices were dropped into a canyon, they landed in a hidden greenhouse, the Greenhouse Canyon they were met by young Rosette Meadows. Rosette took the group to her aunt, the sorceress, because she didn't know the way out. The sorceress was described to be a "very short woman with a wide mouth and abnormally long earlobes. She wore her hair in two silver braids." The sorceress taught the future Fairy Council that magic can be practiced and witchcraft can be practiced. She was also known as "Aunt Floraline" by Rosette.
