Background[]
The Wicked Witch of the East is a fictional character from the Oz Books by L. Frank Baum[1]. Her post powerful magical possession is a pair of silver shoes.[2] In the Oz books, she perishes when Dorothy's farmhouse lands on her.

Beyond the Kingdoms[]
When the company lands in the Land of Oz in Beyond the Kingdoms, it turns out their farmhouse did not crush the Wicked Witch of the East (or, as Conner is briefly concerned, Glinda, the Good Witch of the South). Instead, the Tin Woodman is under it (and relatively unharmed).[3]
Blubo, a flying monkey they find in the Wicked Witch of the West's deserted castle, says that the Masked Man claimed to have killed the Wicked Witch of the East and has taken her silver shoes. The Masked Man uses them as leverage to get the Wicked Witch of the West to join his army.[4]
